Huw's new Kirckman harpsichord was finished in early Spring of 2025. It was introduced to an invited audience at a private venue in North Buckinghamshire in March 2025. Julia Kuhn flew in from Munich to join David Wright who travelled from East Anglia. They were joined by Jacob Garfield from London. Together they played works by Rameau, Corelli, Handel, Johann Christian Bach and Thomas Arne. The eminent BBC Radio 3 broadcaster Donald McLeod presented the programme. The harpsichord is currently booked for several future recordings including Mahan Esfahani's of J S Bach's English suites (Hyperion). Forthcoming concerts include a lecture recital by Mahan at the Victoria and Albert museum to coincide with the release of his recording of Book 1 of Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, and a recital by Steven Devine and Satoko Doi-Luck where it will appear alongside a genuine Kirckman from 1756. This instrument is available for hire or for sale once the current booking obligations are complete. Please click here to contact Huw for more information.
